This project comprises the conversion of school BuBaO De Wikke - BuSO Ter Engelen in Maaseik. In the past, the BuSO - BuBaO school in Maaseik did not have its own entrance or reception. All school-related activities took place behind a closed façade wall. The new school building with sports hall resulted in an open, wide facade with multifunctional spaces such as a refectory, a covered bicycle shed and a sports hall. This project therefore created an opening in the streetscape, but on the other hand also gave value to the inside of the building block, which contains valuable historical remnants of a monastery.
