For this project in Borgloon, construction company Keulen H. was responsible for the complete renovation of the station area. A key feature of the project is the preservation of the site’s historical character: old tram rails and track elements were not removed but cleverly integrated, allowing visitors to continue experiencing the rich history of the location. The highlight of the site is the new pavilion, constructed from warm Siberian larch wood and sleek concrete—a striking blend of nature and modernity that serves as the site’s visual centerpiece. The former station building was also thoroughly upgraded and now functions as a bicycle rental point, positioning the location as a prominent hotspot for cycling tourism in Limburg.
